Break the Sandcastle World Record!
Sunday, November 25, 2012
8:30 AM To 12:00 PM
Lyall Bay Beach
Next Sunday November 25th, Adventure Wellington will attempt to smash the Guinness World Record for most number of sandcastles built in a single hour, to raise money for the Neonatal Trust.
With incredible support from our friends at Weta Workshop and Air New Zealand, not to mention other amazing local supporters, this will be a challenge like no other!
We want to make this EPIC and use it as an opportunity to raise much needed funds and awareness for an awesome Kiwi charity, the Neonatal Trust New Zealand.
The official Guinness World Record
The current world record of 683 sandcastles was set less than two months ago in Britain. We not want to break this world record, we want to smash it! We want to make sure everyone will know that this title belongs to New Zealand.
Special Weta Workshop buckets designed
The record attempt will be closely reviewed by Guinness World Records independent adjudicators KPMG NZ and each sand castle has to be 2ft tall with a 2ft wide base and include four turrets; and stay standing for an extra hour. Especially for this world record attempt, Weta Workshop has designed and molded special buckets to be used during the attempt.
